Maps of Heritage buildings of Addis Ababa’ were launched on Monday, December 9th at the Embassy of Spain, Addis Ababa. This was a celebratory event and could not have been possible without the generous support from H.E. Mr. Borja Montesino, Ambassador of Spain Mr. & Mrs. Clause and Karin Steiner, Hilton Hotel W/ro Lensa Mekonnen, Land Bank Development Corporation. This celebration marked our first completed project funded by Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The work involved 28 architect students that conducted the surveys and 4 students from the social sciences that conducted the historical research of the buildings. The maps were beautifully produced by HW Member and urban planner, Bethlehem Gebre Medhin, and her team members, Eden Dereje and Simret Arega. Thank you all members of Heritage Watch as well as affiliates who were part of this project. A special thanks to: Selome Shawel a sterling ally, working behind the scene, as well as taking care of things with remarkable care, and attention to details!
